Lesley Nye

Lesley was born in Norman, Oklahoma, where she spent most of her childhood. However, she also attended schools in Pittsburgh, PA; Princeton, NJ; Paris, France; and Lexington, MA. She attended Williams College, double majored in English and History, and was a 4-time All-American in swimming. After Williams, she taught in inner-city schools in Houston, TX and Washington DC before completing a M.Ed and Ed.D from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, focusing on the history and sociology of American Higher Education.

Lesley provides support to third, fourth and "super senior" students who are dealing with academic, personal, or family issues and frequently talks with students about financial concerns and possibilities around underloads and leaves of absence.

Lesley previously served as an admissions counselor at Williams College; a Harvard College Resident Dean of Freshman and Lecturer in the Harvard Social Studies Department; and a Director of Student Life within Forbes College at Princeton University. She joined Caltech in 2011, and has assumed a number of roles within the Undergraduate Deans' Office, including that of Interim Dean for a number of years.

Lesley enjoys traveling, hosting friends on her back deck or while floating in the pool, and reading young adult literature when not watching shows on BritBox. She has recently taken up baking, which has had uneven results. However, she remains optimistic.
